Today I want to share with you a very worthwhile organization, Cards for Hospitalized Kids. My company recently hosted a company-wide Day of Service to give employees an opportunity to go out into the community. Unfortunately, the only events local to me were in areas with a horrifically high rate of violent crime. So I searched for a virtual event that wouldn’t involve armed robberies or carjackings. I was delighted to discover an event supporting Cards for Hospitalized Kids.
Cards for Hospitalized Kids
This is a charity from Chicago, started by a former hospitalized kid, that sends out greeting cards to kids in hospitals across the country. They accept general cards as well as holiday cards and their website provides guidelines for card content. They distribute the cards they receive so you don’t have to worry about where to send them. Plus, you don’t even need to include envelopes. Which is a great thing when you make cards with many layers, like mine.
You can learn more about their organization here.
Over the last couple years, I’ve been drawn to lots of Lawn Fawn stamp sets, most of which are geared towards younger recipients. Without littles of my own, and with grown nieces, I didn’t have an outlet for all the cute cards I wanted to make. Donating them to an organization like this is the perfect solution. I’ve had so much fun making these cards! I hope they enjoy them as much as I’ve enjoyed making them.
Check out the cards I’ve made for them
Here is a collection of the cards that I made for them. I attempted to make at least 4 of each card. And I tried to make every card interactive. I just want to bring a smile to their young faces.
